Short
News
From
1st of June, 1999 there is a Message Board at the site. For everyone
who knows what IRC is, it won´t cause too much trouble to use.
On the message board always the 50 latest messages are present,
in timeline order, from the top to the bottom - so the freshest
messages are always on the top. If you want to leave a message
then press "submit new message", give your nickname and your message,
and press the submit button. In case you are on the banlist for
some reason (the cgi will notify you, when submitting message)
you can ask removal at the emeric@abakusz.matav.hu
addy.

The
website of the AMIGAonly has been updated, now with an advertising
and message cgi. You can now on record your personal advertisements
(buy/sell wares etc.) here, leaving your e-mail or telephone number.
The CGI has been created by LouiSe of AMIGAonly. Hopefully it
will replace the advertisement function of the #amigahu topic,
so it can be used for much more worthy causes... (Like storing
the worldnews url there, and so...-Emeric SH)

The voting engine is available from now on at the WorldNews site.
The queries are changing regularly, and votes immediately changes
the results, as you can see on the small graphs. Everyone has
only one chance to vote, so always think it over... All statistics
of previous polls will be recorded.

The
WebSite of the AmigaRuleZ is operational from now. With this achievment
AmigaRuleZ is the second hungarian paperback Amiga magazine, which
has a website - and we are looking forward to take a look at the
website of the remaining Amiga Világ. The page of AmigaRuleZ is
mostly in under construction state, the graphics for example have
been created between breakfast and teeth washing... The address
is: http://www.extra.hu/amigarulez.

There
is a pile of Picasso drivers in the making for the Amiga, and
there are discussions about porting the Sorenson codec into the
well known avi/mov player, Moovid by pH03N1x. If we can believe
to the rumours, there will be a Picasso driver for the video card
of PC bridge boards (after the sound card, connecting to the floppy
port, there´s nothing, what can make me surprised though), and
following the CGX AGA, there will be a Picasso AGA driver too.
As pH03N1x told us, like his Savage driver for the ShapeShifter,
it will support 16 bit via a HAM8 conversion routine - which is
still an unique, unrivalled feature. The release of a Picasso
AGA driver should be exciting, as in the case the two graphic
systems are on the same platform and in the same environment,
so it should be easy to test, that which one is the faster, more
stable and the better of the two. (Maybe there will be a Picasso
driver for the BVision and CVision boards...?)

Our
main aim with Short News is to gather and accumulate local information
on any Amiga, and community related topics. The main structure
is very similar to the WorldNews itself - the freshest news are
always on the top, and on every occasion, when Short News will
be updated, it will also be placed at the top of the actual article
list. You will find such news here, of which it´s very hard to
write a complete and long article, but which are worth to be mentioned.
